Thailand's mobile penetration level is close to 100%  with 64 million subscribers,

AIS is the country's largest mobile operator (by # of subscribers) with over 23 million subs. 

The downturn in the economy hit minutes of use - which declined YoY and revenue per minute decreased 8% YoY. Mobile data is strong and in 1Q 2009 accounts for 15.4% of revenues (from 12.5% in 1Q 2008)

Service Provider True Mobile recently launched Thailand's first service providing unlimited downloads of full copyrighted new  releases as well as other local and international songs in MP3 format via mobile phones (and the Internet) for monthly fee of only Bt29.

It is hard to find a mobile handset in Thailand that has not adopted a Java game, 3rd party wallpaper, or a new ringtone.
